Never underestimate the power of excellent quality patent illustrations. We formalize illustrations for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office - it's what we do best! Our goal is to provide the best quality work in a timely manner and at reasonable costs. In addition to patent drawings, we also extend the same philosophy to our work with technical drawings, 3D modeling and trial graphics.
In 2007, Artworks IP owner Alfonso Martinez decided to take the knowledge he acquired working at a patent drafting firm and later a small marketing company and apply it to his own operation. The result is a small but growing business that has successfully served many attorneys, manufacturers and businesses.

Alfonso Martinez
Owner
Alfonso, or "Al" as many people like to call him, first started working as a patent draftsman in 1999. After nearly 5 years of working for a patent firm, Al decided to join a small marketing company where he started as a web and graphic designer. He quickly established himself as the creative director and marketing adviser with that same company. In 2007, Al was presented with the opportunity that allowed him to start operating his own shop. The rest is history....
Andrew Lennhoff
Lead Illustrator and Quailty Control
Andy has been a patent illustrator since 2004. He graduated from Frostburg State University as an Art and Design major with a minor in Art History. As an accomplished illustrator and cartoonist, Andy has produced art work for multiple types of media.
He joined Artworks IP in early 2011 and has been a huge asset in providing our clients with the best quality work. Andy is knowledgeable in all things concerning patent illustrations, so feel free to ask him some of the tough questions!
Lawrence Portner
Patent Illustrator
Larry joines our team with 21 years of experience as a patent illustrator. He's a gradute of the Parsons School of Design in New York, NY. Larry is proud of the work he performed in a lead role in the typesetting of the American Immigrant Wall of Honor at Ellis Island and the production of an interactive exhibition at the Dorothy and Lewis Cullman Hall of the Universe-Rose Center for Earth and Space at the American Museum of Natural History. Larry enjoys landscaping in his free time.
Elizabeth McBride
Patent Illustrator
Elizabeth brings strong illustrative skills to our team of draftsman. She grew up in the Tri-State Area just outside NYC and is a graduate from The Joe Kubert School. Elizabeth use to teach Adobe programs, so she has very strong software skills. She has worked on a few comic books by helped create and letter custom comic fonts. Elizabeth likes to spend her free time binding books, quilting and painting.
Matthew Skuce
Freelance Patent Illustrator
Matt is a former full-time employee who moved to the midwest. Matt continues to do work for the firm as a freelance draftsman. He attended Dominion University where he studied Drawing & Design - graduating Cum Laude. Matt has published two Sci-fi comics.
